Once very long ago there was a stone cutter chopping with his pick at a rock on the side of a mountain.
The sun was hot, the work was hard, and the day was long. At that moment he noticed down below, on the road,
that there was a caravan, a royal caravan. There in the caravan, he noticed the king's coach. It was a sight
for soar eyes. Lavishly decorated and with all the comforts and shade a man would want on such a hot day.
"I want to be the king" Said the stone cutter, "That is what I want from life."
Hashem heard him because. behold, he became the king. He enjoyed all of the kings comfort until he realized that
it was becoming extremely hot wearing the kings robes within the kings covered coach.
"If the king can become agitated by the heat then there must be something more powerful than the king." He looked
up at the heavens and saw the sun in all its brilliance, shinning down on his head.
"I want to be the sun, surely the sun is more powerful than the king." Hashem heard him because. Behold, he became
the sun. Now he was happy. Shinning down on the king, on the people, on the ground and feeling as the most powerful
creation in this world. When suddenly he noticed a large patch of shade on the earth. It was being caused by a cloud.
"I can't believe it," He said. "A small cloud is more powerful than the sun. Then I must be that cloud." Hashem heard him
because, behold, he became the cloud. Now he thought I am the most powerful, I can give shade from the not so powerful sun
as I see fit. It is I who rules over the sun. Suddenly a wind came which blew the cloud into the opposite direction.
"What is happening?" said the cloud "I can not go where I choose to go, I am dependent on the wind.? Well then, the wind must
be the most powerful thing on earth. I want to be the wind." Needless to say, Hashem heard him and behold, he became the wind.
Now he was content. He blew softly, he blew strongly. He bent trees and uplifted them with little effort. "Now I am the most powerful."
He shouted. "There is nothing which can stop me." No sooner did he say that when behold, there was a mountain which did not let him
pass to the other side. "Ugh, how stupid of me," He said "I should have seen this long ago. The mountain, with it's peaks in the heavens,
this is surely the most powerful thing on earth. I want to be a mountain." Behold! He became a mountain.
As he was basking in his so called power and greatness, he felt a pain on his side. "What is this aggravating pain which I feel, I can't bear it much longer, what on earth could be causing such pain to such a powerful mountain as myself. Please Hashem, let it stop, and turn me into what is causing this mountain moving pain."
Behold! He turned into a stone cutter.
